Description-
For the do it better project we had to redo one of our previous project but better. Our group choose to remake the hybrid car because we all felt that we could improve our old design. Our old car design used rubber bands to move it the five meters and was made with straws as it's axles and CD's for the wheels. The body of the car was also made out of cardboard and was very flimsy. So instead this time we decided to make the car out of design of particle board, and use EMT pipes for the axles, and we made our wheels out of a large diameter PVC pipe. This car looks much better and is extremely stable. This car overall has a much better design.
Concepts-
All of the concepts are the same as the previous car because we use the same things to power it.
energy- the ability to do work
kinetic energy- energy due to motion
spring constant- measure of elasticity of a spring
elastic potential energy- energy due to compression or expansion of an elastic material
Reflection-
This project did not go so well for us. We got the construction of the car done very well but we had problems getting it to go the correct distance, we could only get it to go about halfway. We did do a few things that were good though. We actually had very good communication, we all got together after class one day for a couple hours and tried to make it better. One of our pits was time management, we had trouble getting everything done when we wanted to get it done. This was partially because we had very little time to complete this project. Our second peak was that we worked very hard to get it done in the time that we had. Finally, our second pit, we had a hard time getting everyone in the group to do work. Some of the group members were not productive and this slowed us down a lot.
